Aparto Milan Ripamonti - Interiors

/ Aparto Milan Ripamonti is a hall of residence that was conceived to make its residents feel at home

Designed for long-term stays, the complex offers its guests the possibility to experience community life but also find their own privacy. The careful choices of materials and spatial ideas implemented throughout aparto Milan Ripamonti result in an urban setting that offers many services and private comfort and guarantees widespread hospitality.

The student residence comprises a new building and the conversion of the former Consorzio Agrario. Thanks to the original structure's apparent rigidity, new room configurations could be tested, and this resulted in various types of accommodation, such as rooms on two levels or with mezzanine. As an alternative to independent rooms, the clusters are macro-apartments that house from 8 to 12 people in private rooms featuring shared common areas. The entrance halls, communal areas, cafeteria and administrative offices develop on a continuous area on different levels of the ground floor of the new building and the existing one.

Connected to the ground floor by a scenic staircase in coloured metal sheet, the basement of the existing building offers guests various services: a gym, a gaming area, a cinema, a rehearsal room and a large multi-purpose room for events, which is also open to the public.

The courtyard is the core of the campus. An outdoor agora designed for rest and relaxation houses outdoor study areas, green areas and an equipped outdoor sports area. In keeping with the building's post-industrial mood, a concrete-effect material was used for the ground floor's flooring. The coloured and wood-effect furnishings are mostly custom-made and modular and lend the space a feeling of lightness and warmth. Acoustic comfort is ensured by sound-absorbing panels in mineralised wood.

The upper floors also offer study rooms and communal terraces dedicated to conviviality and sport. Brightened by bold colours, the rooms are simple and welcoming. The interior design aims to reproduce a domestic, warm and comfortable environment.
