Soils are the base element of every form of terrestrial ecosystem. On their quality depend biodiversity and ecosystem services, such as water cycle regulation, carbon sequestration and capture, life of flora and fauna. The talk will explore, through Terrapreta’s works and researches, the importance of the health of soil to restore degraded contemporary landscape as a main strategy to face climate change.
Terrapreta is an innovative startup company which operates in the field of NbS and ecological restoration, promoting and developing small to large-scale projects. The work intersects various disciplines, with a focus on soil health as a main strategy to promote resilient terrestrial ecosystems. The method combines research, analysis, data-driven strategies and landscape design with an interdisciplinary approach, and allows Terrapreta to work with both private and public clients for developing complex and innovative contemporary projects.
Since 2022 Terrapreta has been the main partner of the Municipality of Milan for the large reclamation process of La Goccia spontaneous forest, coordinating the multistakeholder partnership Osservatorio La Goccia.
