23rd May 2024, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
Park Hub, Via Garofalo 31, Milan
For the Milano Arch Week 2024, Park Associati is organizing the workshop Anatomy of Public Space - Do you know your urban body? at the Park Hub location.
The workshop "Anatomy of Public Space – Do you know your urban body?" is a collaboration between Park Plus (the research unit of Park Associates), LAND Research Lab® (the research and innovation think tank of the LAND group) and the Transform Transport ETS Foundation (the nonprofit research foundation launched by Systematica Srl). The event aims to study public space from the different perspectives of the three working group components (architecture, landscape, mobility) in order to present a multidimensional narrative of its role in contemporary cities. The connection between the different components of public space and the human body aims to define new perspectives with which to view public space through a multi-sectoral lens.
By shifting our focus from urban environments to human environments, we recognize that public spaces are the key to creating better, more sustainable cities that improve the quality of life. Public spaces are not just physical places; they are social infrastructures that foster safety, well-being, equity and inclusion, promoting health and happiness.
The workshop will be organized into a first short part of frontal framing of the issues posed by the publication "Anatomy of Public Space" and a second part of "hands-on" involvement in which participants will be divided into working groups coordinated by the presenters. Each group will receive a graphic support to interpret creatively materializing their positions on the main issues pertaining to contemporary public space.
To attend the workshop, please reserve a spot here.
