Stage - a conversation with franzosomarinelli
Can mountains teach us how to design open space?
March 31 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Park Hub, Via Garofalo 31, Milan
“Can mountains teach us how to design open space?” looks at mountain environments as a place where architecture is shaped by constraints that become opportunities. It reflects on how working in close relation with landscape, materials and local communities changes the way we think about public space, especially outside the urban context, where uses and forms of sharing are more open and less defined. Through this perspective, the talk suggests that designing in the mountains can offer simple but powerful lessons for architecture more broadly, encouraging a more grounded, responsive approach to open space.
franzosomarinelli is an architecture firm founded by Mirko Franzoso and Mauro Marinelli, based in Cles, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of northern Italy. The studio focuses on architectural research and design across different scales, with particular attention to Alpine architecture. Each project is approached with a deep sensitivity to cultural and material aspects, seeking harmony with the surrounding context and developing a design process that balances experimental research with artisanal knowledge.
Park Stage is a monthly series of events where we invite professionals from different fields to share their experiences with the Park team and the wider public.
