Mattia Barbieri in conversation with Mario Schifano - MILANO DRAWING WEEK 2026

A dialogue between contemporary drawing and twentieth-century masters

Exhibition: 21 – 29 November, 11.00 AM – 7.00 PM

Park Associati, Via Garofalo 31, Milan

From 21 to 29 November 2026, Park hosts an exhibition by artist Mattia Barbieri, presented by RizzutoGallery on the occasion of the sixth edition of Milano Drawing Week, conceived and curated by Collezione Ramo in collaboration with the City of Milan. The exhibition centres on a dialogue between contemporary drawing and twentieth-century masters, bringing Barbieri's work into conversation with VITALIANO È VELIERO, a drawing by Mario Schifano from Collezione Ramo. The affinity between the two artists lies in their expressive urgency, experimentation with mixed media and an approach to image-making that embraces spontaneity and continuous transformation. For Barbieri, drawing is an autonomous and intimate practice, independent from its conventional role as a design tool. Through the combination of India ink, airbrush, oil and collage, his work develops as an uninterrupted process in which forms and structures are constantly dismantled and reassembled.

Hosting Milano Drawing Week is part of Park's ongoing programme dedicated to exploring the intersections of architecture, art and culture. By opening its spaces to artistic research and interdisciplinary exchange, Park reinforces its role as a place for dialogue between different creative practices and the city.
