Ibla

A single shell of white Corian recalling sinuous and delicate forms of origami

Designed for the interior office spaces of the headquarters Salewa in Bolzano and successively utilized in the offices of La Serenissima in Milano, Ibla is a pendant luminaire for direct and indirect lighting, produced by Zumtobel,

The luminaire, obtained using a single shell of white Corian recalls the sinous and delicate forms of an origami. The housing’s contours are obtained by three-dimensional thermoforming, so that each luminaire enclosure is one of a kind. When combined with special bonding, this acrylic-based mineral material

also offers the possibility of seamlessly incorporating a micro-pyramidal optic in the housing without any visible fasteners. The design concept of the crystalline body is thus implemented to perfection.

Thanks to a reflection-intensifying coating on its internal surface, the luminaire also meets exacting luminaire efficiency requirements.

Ibla is a very good light and an outstanding piece of design when the light is off.
